Animal Attraction

My eyes burn into you,

You who’ve awoken the beast inside

My heart beats like dragons wings

My loins are on fire

I want to devour you

But you reflect my gaze

Your eyes burning into my heart

And in my mind I hear your roar

You smile with fangs of desire

You want to devour me

We each stalk our prey

Our souls are fuelled with lust

We strike with talons of seduction

Inviting the other to fall

To be a feast of love

So who will fall first

Weakened by weapons of charms

Bitten by sinful romance

Captivated by attraction

Loves sweet prey

Free Spirit

January 28th, 2012

Free Spirit

I behold you,
A beautiful free spirit,
Carefree and happy,
For all the world to see,

You dance on the sands of time,
Splashing in breaking waves,
And on the beach you paint patterns,
With every step that you take,

Carefree as the wind,
Free as a bird,
Fresh as the breeze,
That caresses your face,

And I look at you and wonder,
Would you lay with me,
Here in the sunlight of life,
Touched by the warmth of your soul,

To kiss your lips,
To hold your hand,
And embrace your curves,
Sculpted like dunes,

Or should I dance with you now,
Two zepher’s entwined,
Drifting out to sea,
Together for evermore.

Why are you on strike?

November 30th, 2011

Did the likes of Richard Branson or Alan Sugar ever go on strike when they weren’t happy?

NO!

If you’re not happy then do something constructive about it. If you want more money, go out and make more money. If you want to make yourself happier, then you have to get off your backside and do something about it. There’s always opportunity out there (even in a recession), don’t wait for it to knock at your door, go out and seek it.

Work smart as well as hard, and you too can do it. Being apathetic or moaning will achieve nothing. Success won’t happen overnight but if you don’t start now, when will you? Everyone can do this, don’t ever think you can’t, but then again if you really believe you can’t then you’re probably right and if you believe you can, then you will certainly be right.

If you want to spend the day on a picket line, then fine go and do it. You’ll still be stuck in a rut when the day is over. Otherwise just think what you could be doing with these 24 hours, these precious hours that you will never see again. So the question I want you to ask yourself is…

What could I being doing now to make things truly better for myself?

Prey (A short story)

September 9th, 2011

“Unnoticed I enter your house and slip into your bedroom whilst you sleep. I sit and watch you from
the shadows, at peace and unaware of my presence. I am a patient killer, I can wait for hours or days
for a kill, passing the time in solitude. I am a loner and that is part of my nature, a perfect killing
machine, but it is not just flesh and blood that I feed on, for I hunger for something more…”

Great Quote 07 Sep 2011

September 7th, 2011

Came across this quote recently and it made me laugh, but, it’s oh so true…

Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self-esteem, first make sure that you are not, in fact, simply surrounded by assholes
#quote William Gibson

Lol! But seriously guys, simply surround yourself with the right people – who are the right people? Those with positive energy! These are the people that want to achieve in life, they are the feel good crowd and being around them will make you feel good.

And the wrong people? Well… the moaners and gossipers, those whose company will drain you of enthusiasm! Those who go nowhere in their lives and just sit and moan about it and blame other people for it, instead of trying to do something about it themselves.

So get out there, mix with the positive crowd and love life! :-)

Create from what you feel

June 7th, 2011

Why just paint what you see? Why not paint what you feel? Write what you feel? Sing what you feel? Speak what you feel? Emotions are a magical ingredient of any artist venture. Feelings lead to passion, lead to a desire to share them (in whatever form) with the world.

Me… I used to be the arty kid at school, I could just see something or somebody and draw it. I was never the tallest or the smartest, always one of the last to picked to be on somebody’s side at football or any other game/sport, but when it came to art, I could always excel.

So what happened? Well I left school and went into the working world, wasn’t able to find anything I wanted to do, so ended up in one job after another not really doing anything creative. Whenever I tried to draw anything, my heart just wasn’t it it. Later on I found I had a talent for writing lyrics, I would just write what I felt, either directly what was going on inside me, or how I interpreted what was going on in the world around me. Then one day it clicked – why don’t I just paint what I feel rather than what I see. It’s the same approach I use with Lyrics, poetry and writing, why not painting – Eureka!

Now when I draw/paint I feel the passion. I can express myself, and I can put my love into my work.

Waterfalls of Sorrow (2011):

I was inspired to paint this after seeing the image in my mind. It was invoked by a line in a poem that I had written entitled “Hope in Despair“.
So what’s the painting about? Well, with most of my work, before I can tell you that, I have to sometimes work that out for myself too.
The eyes are crying, which is sad, the multitude of tears forms waterfalls, and with every tear I cry, the waters of sadness rise. The heart is empty and adrift which also signifies sadness. However, an empty heart can be filled, and in this case it’s a boat which means – it floats. If the painting was only about sadness, it would be sunk at the bottom of the lake/river, but it’s not sunk – it’s about hope!

I have felt revitalised as an artist and hope to share with you shortly the other piece I’m currently working on, entitled “Out of the Darkness”.

It’s called being Individual

April 20th, 2011

You are an “Individual”. You are you, nobody else. You need to be who you want to be, not what anybody else wants you to be. Too many people conform and wonder why they are unhappy. Life is too short, it’s there to be enjoyed and experimented with. The world needs individuals to thrive, otherwise what a dull place it would be!

The best people are those that get out their comfort zone and stop conforming to the rules of the so called “sane” world. Those who see something outside society’s rules and doctrine, can escape the rat race and push the envelope of their own being, and in doing so, push the envelope of society in general. We all contain hope, love, creativity, imagination and belief, but they are the ones who share it with the world. They are the ones who spearhead change, who strive to make the world a better place, who fill it with amazing new things – they are the ones that keep making it interesting.

They are the artists, the entrepreneurs and business owners, the writers, the poets and songwriters. They are dancers and actors, sportsmen and women, chefs, humanitarians, environmentalists and philosophers. They are inventors and bloggers, musicians, comedians, entertainers, performers, networkers, speakers and sometimes politicians. They are a long list of different people, so endless I could spend all day listing them out (but I’m sure you could think of some more), and often they are the ones who refuse to be categorised. Not all are rich & famous, some are those that influence the rich & famous, and some who just influence ordinary everyday people, in fact they are still normal everyday people. Perhaps they dress differently or have a different set of beliefs, but what defines normal anyway? Who are we as society to say what/who is normal? They live between the categories, sometimes fusing them, living in their own niches, because they are never afraid to be individual.

Radiators and Drains

April 14th, 2011

Which one are you?
A Radiator… a positive person who “radiates” warmth and positivity.
A Drain… a negative person who “drains” others of good feelings (somebody full of stinking thinking).

And who would you most like to spend time with?
The radiator will share their positivity with you.
The drain will drag you into their gutter of misery.

I know who I like to be and be with! :-)

Be who YOU want to be!

March 31st, 2011

The only way you’ll ever be really happy is to be true to your own aspirations!
You need to follow your own path, it’s your dreams you must follow. Want for yourself what YOU want, not what someone else wants you to be, or what you think will make them happy.

Likewise, if you are an artist/musician, etc…
Then create something you want to see/hear, something that you want to share, rather than what you think people will want. Your individuality is your biggest selling point.

The Interview Technique

February 28th, 2011

What do you say, when you talk to yourself? Do you just reflect on today’s failures or do you just daydream about the future?
And when you dare to dream of the future, is there a little voice of doubt in the back of your head that tells you… it won’t happen?

If you had no doubt at all, how powerful would that be?
Sometimes to best way to find the solution to a problem is called reverse engineering. To look at it another way, ever tried to solve a maze puzzle in a puzzle book… sometimes the best way to solve it, is to start at the end (the destination), and work backwards!

So why not put this to work on getting what you want in life – think of a goal – something you really desire, then imagine you already have it, feel how good it is to have it, then look back at how you got there. One way of doing this, is what I call “The Interview Technique”.

Sit on your own, and let your imagination go… Imagine you’ve got what you wanted and somebody is asking you about it. That somebody could be a radio DJ, or a journalist, a chat show host, or maybe just a friend or family member.
They could be asking you about how you…

Got the job, or won the competition, or reached a destination, or whatever it is you really want. And I mean what you really want. Think of your big goal, your biggest want, something or things, what you desire more than anything else.

And they want to know…

How you got there, what steps you took, how long it took you, how it feels, what you gave up,, what advice you’d give to anybody wanting to do the same, etc… BANG! This is the point you program your brain into action, to go to work on how to get what you want, to let you know what you need to do.

Then, go take the action, if you sit back and relax – guess what? It ain’t going to happen.
And it has to be massive action. You can’t give up, if things get difficult (and they will – if it’s worth doing it won’t be easy!), then return to the interview and re-focus.

And remember – enjoy yourself, life is a journey!
