Playing With Words for World Poetry Day

03.21.2023 by Scott Coe // Leave a Comment

It’s World Poetry Day. But this year, instead of sharing a poem, I will give you a prompt idea and see what it inspires you to write…
At this month’s ‘Playing With Words’ last night. We did an exercise called ‘People, Places, Things’
Pulling choices out of envelopes and creating these 6 random prompts, which we then choose one or more to write about.
If any of these inspire you, please let me know what you come up with.
Thanks to all those who came and of course all the crew at MindSpace Stamford – see their website for all their activities
Our next session will be 17th April 😃

It's #WorldPoetryDay so here's an exercise called 'People, Places, Things'
Pulling choices out of envelopes and creating these 6 random prompts.
If any of these inspire you, please let me know what you come up with.#WritingCommunity #prompt #poetry#writingprompt pic.twitter.com/kYlVpqm4SV

About Scott

Scott Coe is a performance poet and artist, and is the former Poet Laureate of Stamford. He believes poetry should always be written from the heart – it’s all about feeling and is always at it’s best when written in the moment, when the thoughts run straight from your soul to the pen.

He also has keen interests in visual and audio arts and is working on new projects in these areas.
